Great excuse to go back home for a little vacation, though. ☺ We have it pretty easy here in Canada, as Birgit said, but she's talking about licence plate renewals, which are every year. Here in Curaçao (and in Mexico), it's two entirely separate procedures... double the hassle, technically, but it feels more than that :DGuilie Castillohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09006999087139126972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7436812892124383603.post-74652749706179362922015-11-13T19:19:23.205-04:002015-11-13T19:19:23.205-04:00Thanks, Darla! All we do here is wait in line, pay $85 (every year), more if you need a new photo. Fill out a form with the KM driven thus far and show ownership. Get it stamped and they give you another sticker for another year for the car. Your new DL comes in the mail 4 weeks later so you have a temp one in the meantime.Birgithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09439720285857050428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7436812892124383603.post-42294944706002532052015-11-12T17:33:48.857-04:002015-11-12T17:33:48.857-04:00What an ordeal! Because if that's the case in SA, it might very well be the same here (Dutch influence...). Which will mean I won't even attempt to get a license here, hahaha... Mexico works just fine for me, thank you very much. (And it's a great excuse to visit Mom.)

Thanks for the visit, Susan. It's like hearing people here in Curaçao complain about traffic when the trip to the office takes 11 instead of the usual 7 minutes. Hilarious is what it is :D

I'm so, so grateful to you for making me a part of this, Lee... I never would've thought of it on my own, so if I stretched your brain, you definitely stretched mine back :) And the way you built up on it, from the last BoTB results and on Monday's post... My first test drive in a car was a stick shift. I'd only once before been in or tired to drive a stick shift. My dad's VW when I was 15. But this was a car my boss had arranged me to see and test drive, I couldn't say to the salesman, I can't drive this. So I got behind the wheel and pulled up ever memory of that day. I don't know how I did it, except to say that God was watching over me as we took off through town. I bobbled a few times but the salesman looked at it as just getting used to a new clutch. I bought the car, after promising my first born son to the bank, (they didn't want to give me the loan because I was new to Alaska, and they were sure once the cold and snow hit, I'd abandon the state and the car.) I've only had stick shift cars ever since! Oh, and I didn't abandon the state! :)Yolanda Renéehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09085436784133103221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7436812892124383603.post-69554918245340719112015-11-11T15:25:44.063-04:002015-11-11T15:25:44.063-04:00seems to complicated to me!
