Fail-Safe Cure for Depression

Feeling blue? Find one of these to hug, play with, or even just watch sleep. Guaranteed rise in serotonin levels :)

These puppies are part of the 13 dogs currently living at home with us. They were born here on Nov 5, almost 11 weeks ago (right? my math sucks). Their mom is Romy, a dog we (CARF) rescued in September from the garbage dump (I know, stupid people). I took two of the puppies (neither pictured here) to a wonderful forever home today, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the other five find as good a family to love them and spoil them to bits. Cross your fingers with me?

  2. I'd take one myself if I wasn't so far away.

    1. Aw, Gwen :) You're so sweet, and thank you for the willingness. The foundation I work with does ship dogs to worthy adopters--mostly to Holland and the US, but Ethiopia isn't out of the question :) Still, I don't think your work with the Peace Corps leaves much room for a dog (much less a puppy!), and you're already doing so much by volunteering over there to begin with. Thank you again for opening your heart to these little ones :)

  3. The puppies are adorable. What wonderful photos. I want to hug one right now my seratonin levels are so low. I think the ice and snow outside effect the mood. I want to snuggle up under a blanket with an adorable puppy. Thanks for sharing. Somebody's bound to contact you.

    1. Thank you, Francene! I do wish I could send you one for an afternoon of hugs and rollicking :) The weather does indeed affect our moods; I haven't lived in cold climates for a while, but I can understand how serotonin levels get crushed under gray skies. Hang in there; it'll be spring soon :)

  4. Wow! They are SO CUTE! I just wanna grab one and hug it and bury my face in it. (I can almost feel its tongue lick my face.)

    1. They are, aren't they? And they smell so nice, so--young, if that makes any sense. They also smell of dust and dirt, but that will all change with the bath they're getting this week :) Thanks for the visit!

  5. They're so beautiful! I'd drive down there and take one if I didn't already have a big grumpy old dog who doesn't get along with puppies. Good for you for rescuing them and now for working so hard to find them forever homes.
