your life is your life
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.
don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission.
be on the watch.
there are ways out.
there is light somewhere.
it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness.
be on the watch.
the gods will offer you chances.
know them.
take them.
you can’t beat death but
you can beat death in life, sometimes.
and the more often you learn to do it,
the more light there will be.
your life is your life.
know it while you have it.
you are marvelous
the gods wait to delight
in you.

ReplyDeleteHello Guillie.
ReplyDeleteThere is a little story I should tell you about, it happened to me a few years ago. I was at home on the farm in Cape Town one evening when Eskom, the South African power facility, implemented Load Shedding (Black out) they do that here. Anyway I was in my kitchen and had a candle on the window sill, only one, when I noticed a truck parked about 100 meters away with the reflective tape on the side glowing very brightly. At first I couldn't work out where the light that was being reflected was coming from, it was very bright. Being quite a curious person who always wants to know why and understand what's going on. I puzzled over this for a while then by accident I moved the candle to the counter top and lo and behold, the light disappeared. I was amazed. I lifted the candle again and there was the light all over again. This got me to thinking about what is written in the bible about how the darkness will never overcome the light. Here was a demonstration of the truth in God's word, this little candle's light was traveling more than 200 meters to the truck and back with no diminishing of it's visual impact. That happening has carried me through many dark times in my life and I cherish what God had revealed to me that night. Trust to the light no matter what.
Thought you may like that little story. Blessings to you and your's this coming year, Geoff in South Africa.
It certainly is! Thank you for sharing.
